AMERICANS ARE DISSATISFIED with the direction of morals and values in our country.
Thus proclaimed a recent study that I heard mentioned on the radio.
Here’s the problem, though: This has been a common complaint, pretty much for the entirety of human history. It has to do with the innate sense of striving that we have as humans, and frustration that things rarely go as we desire.
COMMUNITIES HAVE SPRUNG TO THE TOP of my mind this week.
Each of us has communities that we participate in and contribute to. Social groups. Family. Work. Spiritual support. And other friendships.
This is much more important than we usually recognize.
TODAY IS THE 
FEAST OF ALL SAINTS in the Catholic faith. It’s a remembrance not only of named and recognized saints, but all who have achieved eternal life – whether we know them or not.
It’s a great time to ponder the ultimate purpose of what we’re doing here.
