YOU WANT TO BE AWESOME at everything. I get that.
The problem is that the real world gets in the way!
Here’s an example: You want to attract awesome, talented employees. But your business plan also says you’re very tight on expenses.
Which means you probably can’t pay people what they’re worth. Perhaps you’ll save money on hiring less-than-top-notch people, then spend a bundle training them up.
THIS WEEKEND IS the celebration of Independence Day in the US. A patriotic, celebratory, but thoughtful time.
When I was a kid, I got the impression that our country was created in the late 18th century and has been running on automatic ever since.
Boy, was I wrong!
WE ALL GET DISCOURAGED. It’s a part of the human condition, and a constant struggle.
But the fact is that those who reap great rewards are not so much those who are smart, talented, or lucky. It’s those who are persistent learners and adapters.
“Rewards” in this case might be monetary goals, fame, impact, or spiritual development. Doesn’t matter.
EVERYTHING IS A DISASTER.
Or at least it seems that way.
But you get a different perspective when you’re able to reflect after the fact. It’s human nature.
We’re expert at focusing on the detail. If we didn’t do that, the magnitude of everyday experience would overwhelm us! But it also means that we shut out 99% of the world to focus on the 1%.
Especially when it comes to problems.
