THERE MIGHT BE A  GREAT REASON why you feel like your business is just grinding away week after week, but not making progress on what’s most important.

Often it’s because you’re not tracking that important stuff.

Sure, you’re on top of revenue and expenses, inventory and backlog.  But rarely is that the PURPOSE of your business.  What is?

Whether you’ve written it down or not, you have a deeper mission for your business.  You’re serving a particular kind of customer. You’re providing wonderful employment for your workers.

Heck, maybe it’s even about retiring famous and wealthy.

But are you tracking your progress toward these more important goals?  It’s typically much harder to say with confidence.

I was working with a client who really was quite dedicated to building and nurturing a great work culture where employees were motivated and highly productive.  Measuring productivity (in his case) wasn’t terribly hard, but he got stuck on trying to capture this “culture” thing.

The breakthrough came when he realized that the only culture that matters is what the employees believe it is.  So we put a process in place to ask them.  Not in an intrusive or coercive way, just honest answers.

Just by increasing awareness and gathering real data, his business results started zooming!
