This is a great time to get your mind away from the craziness.

Sure, not for everybody. If you’re in retail, it’s likely things are still intense. Or maybe you’re connected to year-end activities.

Nonetheless, there’s always the need to step back and let your body and mind heal from all the stress. If not now, then hopefully soon.

You’ve been cranking away for YEARS now. It never seems to end.

So when are you taking time to bring back your energy, your passion, your soul? Are you instead spending half the weekend worrying about work or vegging out in front of TV or social media?

That’s not rejuvenation. A renewal means stepping away for long enough that it makes a deep difference.

I’m moving into a more relaxed time as the summer heats up and things slow down because it seems everybody’s on vacation.

Of course, the time of relaxation might be different for you. If you’re in an outdoor-related industry, perhaps things are getting super busy right now.

(It was very strange when we lived in the southern hemisphere, as the natural seasons were reversed. It was something else to experience Christmas in the middle of summer!)

For some of us, things are slowing down. For others, it’s a crazy time of year. Hopefully you’ll have a chance for things to settle, perhaps in January or after April 15th or during next summer.

The point is that we all need a break from the intensity of work.

And not just the weekends. Those are very necessary and vital, but aren’t sufficient. What we need is the chance to REALLY check out of our work. For a week or two or three.

This kind of stuff can send you into a serious tailspin. For weeks.
