It seems like I’ve spent my whole career fixing problems. And don’t get me wrong, there are many problems which need solutions.
But there’s something more important about being a leader.
People aren’t problems to be solved. And the challenges they run into aren’t really about that either. It’s much more organic and heart-centered.
I like to describe it as “healing.” The idea is that people need to come to a place where they’re inspired, motivated, peaceful, and caring.
If you think about it, a lot of this is recovering the joy and innocence we found as children. Do you remember a time when you could totally count on the love of your family? Or when you were joyful and happy just playing with your friends?
We let the concerns of adult life just tear us apart. And those are the wounds which leaders help to heal.
Because everybody needs joy, purpose, and fulfillment.
