We are in a time of preparation before the year-end holidays.

When I was a child, I could never wait for the excitement. School holidays, new snow, Christmas gifts, meeting up with family … the anticipation was almost too much to bear!

I’ve had to learn a bit of patience. But this also applies to business and my various volunteering roles.

It’s good to remember that the important stuff takes time. Especially when I’m in a leadership role, I can get impatient and a bit too forceful.

This can happen partially because my planning is always months or even years in advance. So my brain is thinking that we’ve already reached the end goal, when in fact the rest of the team is still working their tails off.

And of course issues and hiccups occur along the way. Quite annoying!

But I have to remember that the important things take time. I have to be patient.
