You know you should.

But there’s so much to do! So much to pay attention to!

Disconnecting is good for the soul. Do you have a time every day where you give yourself permission to disconnect from your business?

For me, TV doesn’t do it. Yes, it takes my attention away from other concerns when I can be amused and distracted for a little while.

And social media? Unfortunately I find that it tends to inflame my emotional state and make me even MORE concerned about the world. It depends on what you engage with, I guess.

My best time is when I truly unplug. Since I live near the mountains, it’s not uncommon to go on a drive where I lose cell coverage and even radio signal. It’s an interesting experience to just look at the wonderful scenery roll by and be with my own thoughts.

Maybe there will be some music I’ll enjoy? It harkens back to a time thirty years ago before we were all connected 24×7.

So let’s see if we can find some time this week to check out, to disengage.

To think.
