Why is it so hard to get something new started?

I think this picture gives us a clue: Because the challenges ahead seem insurmountable and scary.

I might make a mistake. They might think I’m a fool. I don’t know exactly where I’m going. I don’t know what the best first step is.

Once you realize that’s what’s going on, then we can start to remove the scariness factor.

The best next step is the one:

  • Which seems to go in the right direction
  • Which uses the resources I have at hand
  • Where I don’t have to wait for someone else
  • That I can LEARN from

The point is to get started, start building momentum.

And that will help you figure out what the NEXT step will be.

Confidence will come.
