Sometimes things just don’t go right, and it can feel a bit lonely.

I find that this loneliness tends to come from pulling inward and not wanting to “burden others.” That’s understandable.

This seems to be especially true in our current age, where we share good news and hide bad news – at least at the personal level.

As a result, I often have coaching sessions which focus on your support system:

  • Who around you has supported you in the past?
  • What kinds of groups might you pull energy and solutions from?
  • What would be helpful right now?
  • What are all the resources you have at hand – information, tools, expertise?
  • What help have people called upon to help solve this kind of problem?
  • What have people done in other industries?
  • Who has the knowledge to help navigate through this situation?

It’s stunning how large the list of supporters and resources can get. I certainly try to be one of those for my clients.

And then we realize that everybody needs a little help sometimes.
