I’m moving into a more relaxed time as the summer heats up and things slow down because it seems everybody’s on vacation.

Of course, the time of relaxation might be different for you. If you’re in an outdoor-related industry, perhaps things are getting super busy right now.

(It was very strange when we lived in the southern hemisphere, as the natural seasons were reversed. It was something else to experience Christmas in the middle of summer!)

This brings to mind, though, that humans are made for cycles. Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, … we need times of being up and down. On and off. Fast and slow.

If we don’t respect that, then we tend to burn out. And who wants to live life that way?

So the advice today is to respect, support, and celebrate the need for these cycles. Take vacation and don’t fret about it. Teach your body to actually rest every day. Take your weekend to do those things outside work.

As you mature, you’ll come to appreciate the wisdom of how the human body works, and that the brain needs refreshing.

It’s all good.
